OUR STORY

As the founder of Zak’cent Perfumes I have always loved perfumes and a good scent especially when I dress up in the morning to compliment my dress code. I’ve always believed that a perfume is not merely an accessory – instead it’s part of your lifestyle.

I can still remember the scent of my mother as she prepared to go to work. She would leave the house smelling magnificent and looking resplendent in her outfit.

When I turned 15, one of my uncles bought me my very first bottle of perfume and although I can’t remember it’s name I do remember how wonderful it felt to smell so good amongst my friends at school.

Not too long after that, I visited a newly opened perfume shop in Johannesburg. I must confess that I was disappointed by the dreary, unvarying selection. I left it at that but a desire was sparked in me to come up with my own special scent. I no longer wanted to smell like everybody else but yearned for a unique scent to be used exclusively by me, my friends and family.

In 2015 I travelled to Paris, France and visited a suburb where there are many perfume houses. I felt like a kid in a candy store and that’s when I knew that I’d finally found my passion. It was then that I decided I was going to start my perfume company and come up with an exclusive scent for my customers. I kept this dream alive until 2018 where I finally found the right scent and was ready to launch my perfumes. My initial scents received overwhelmingly positive reviews and ratings and from then on I’ve never looked back.

The Scent

Our oils are sourced from all over the world and we have a unique combination that makes our final products. Our perfumes are unisex as we believe that scent does not have a gender, instead we believe that anyone can smell unique.
